Yeah, IKEA has had some like this for years. Look almost identical to regular light bulbs on the outside, but have the curly CFL on the inside. They are frosted glass and fit perfectly into any normal light socket. I have about 8 of them in my house. Maybe these are brighter, though? The IKEA ones only seem to come in pretty low wattage-equivalents.
Aha! You said "used to"--I knew I wasn't crazy looking at that ad. The ad says "use to".
Is it embarrassing that I still have a couple of the originals?

They should call this blog G1gadget. All they ever talk about is the Android phone. Where is my iPhone news? :) (J/K to all of the haters out there.)
If I hadn't already made the mistake of buying an LG DVD recorder a couple of years ago, I might be tempted by this one. Has all the features I want. Unfortunately, given the reliability of their products, none of those features are actually likely to work. Lucky Goldstar. Remember when you could only buy their sh*t at Kmart?
It is annoying how many phones released in the last year so openly ape the iPhone in design. More irritating was when the RIM CEO claimed that they arrived at the design of the BB Bold independently. I mean, is glossy black with a chrome ring around the front the next obvious evolution of technology from angular grey flip-phones? It's sad.

Sadder still, is the fact that the glossy black and chrome are actually what I would consider the weak points in the iPhone design. I've been using it since day 1, and these shiny surfaces show so many smudges (and scratches on the chrome) that I constantly have to wipe it on my shirt to keep it looking pretty. Put the same features and usability into an all matte-black package and I'd be all over it.

This is the oldest trick in the book. Good luck, Vista!
Oops, beaten to the punch!

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
