Knowing Apple, the first and second gen iPhones won't get flash. They'll release a new iphone this summer with flash, but despite nearly identical hardware, the older iphones will not get flash. Maybe if we're lucky, apple will charge money for the firmware update that adds it, and then hackers make it free for jailbroken phones or something.
Finally, this is the last thing that jailbroken iphones are missing

We already have multitasking (Backgrounder), task manager (Processes, requires SB settings), and Copy + Paste (Clippy), all of which are freely available through cydia. With flash, we'll finally be able to access the "Real Internet"™
I guess none of you have ever heard of competitive shooting?

Militaries all have professional ballistic calculators which they issue to their snipers with the rest of their equipment. This setup is obviously intended for use at a shooting range. (If used for military purposes, how long would the batteries last in that thing anyway? My iPhone wouldn't make it through a 2 or 3 day mission, that's for sure.)

Token Conspiracy Theory: This is a honeypot project by the FBI in cooperation with Apple and the DHS. Anyone who downloads this app will be investigated by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security. Also, bigfoot is real, the aliens told me so.
OK, first of all, despite what all these "registry cleaner" companies want you to think, "registry bloat" has never been shown to have ANY impact on a computer's performance.

As for the sleep thing: I leave vista running for weeks at a time, often putting it to sleep when I leave for a significant amount of time. EVENTUALLY, and I mean after at least 14 sleep and wake cycles, the sound will quit working, or flash videos will only play 2 seconds at a time and then freeze. Happens to me about once a month. It doesn't really bug me very much though.

Other than that, vista is a perfectly stable OS on suitable hardware, and with some tweaking, people have gotten it to run fine on netbooks. Vista gets a bad rap because it had a bad start. For example, 1 out of 3 early crashes were caused by nvidia driver problems. Not exactly nvidia's fault as microsoft kept changing some APIs all the way up until release, effectively screwing over companies like nVidia who were working their asses off trying to get drivers out.

When I hear comments like Mobius_1's, all I see is a "me-too" person trying to be "trendy" for saying vista still has major issues big enough to warrant avoiding it like the plague, and that's simply not true.
@ smart people play tuba:

I used to think something similar:
"Once everyone knows, the market will take care of Apple."

Unfortunately, it seems I was again underestimating the power of stupidity. Don't make that mistake....

Most epic comment ever!
"Wash UAV in Action"? :P

In all seriousness, this thing is quite an achievement. I look forward to version 2.
Hmmmm... gray skies and cold nights..... You might be onto something there....
damn, I had assumed this was the no-glasses variety. I've done some work with polarized rear-projection systems, and they're OK, but not great. This might be a little better than rear-projection, but it's size will likely counter any improved image quality it might have.

The future = affordable no-glasses 3d displays and affordable 3d printers. I can't wait!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
