A more interesting hack would have been interpreting the signal sent from the DAC to the LCD and putting that on the screen instead of using just a webcam.
Holy shit, what's with all the comparisons to the PSP here? What kind of moron would build and play with a system like this if their goal was to emulate? Emulation doesn't provide the same experience as running on original hardware, because it doesn't reproduce every single facet of the original machine at a 1:1 ratio. Let's not even mention all the games that run glitchy or are just plain broken. Why can't you kids just shut the hell up whenever a portable like this is posted on Engadget?

Goddamn.
Ah hell. I would have preferred a bag of garbage.
Have you missed every single LCD manufactured for the system ever?

The most ridiculous thing is the ones that clip on are seated in a more logical place than where this guy put it.
EdgeOne: Actually that'd be sardonicism, not sarcasm.
What if some criminal decides to break into a house and leave a Roomba running while he loots everything out of the place? The cops wouldn't have any idea.
How can you ask questions that end with a period?
Uh, this is actually three months old?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
