I just got suckered - you said HOT brunette!! Hot does not mean 'any female under 30.'

I felt a great disturbance in the nerdverse, as if dozens of nerds shared an awkward moment, and then got on with their empty lives.
Reality Check: My guess is that it's targeted towards businesses: bars and such, ...and sex education instructors.
It's important to note that part of Mac's relative success is due to it's ability to offer the most commonly used software for office and creative use. It's a great OS, but it's not worth squat if it doesn't satisfy the basic needs of its customers. Alienating developers, either on the Mac or iPhone, is a bad idea, and the sort of thinking that has gotten Apple into hot water in the past. It will ultimately alienate its customer base as well.
This sort of thing is nothing new to the tech industry, and nVidia specifically. IBM used to 'upgrade' your printer by putting the belt that powered it (this was a while ago) on a faster cog, then changing the sticker on the front. For anyone that owns an nVidia Quadro FX, you're probably aware that the outrageously expensive card you purchased is essentially just a Geforce with optimised drivers for 3D work.
In the navigation video, for less than half a second, I thought he was going to say 'Let's see what happens...if I turn left on this street [that I can't turn left on].' Would have made for an awesome video. BTW, I thought the whole point of GPS navigation was to avoid Brooklyn. ;-p
Wow. I haven't seen a product so self-involved in a long time. It's like they took a concept sketch and decided, come hell or high water, they were not going to change anything about it, even when the display didn't really work, and the menu system was hokey, and the volume keys kept getting pushed accidentally (because that is going to happen), etc. Yep, this phone will certainly make a strong statement about you that everyone else will see at least a block away.
Thrilled school girl excitement for Apple products, but jaded disinterest in potentially real technological advancement? A significant shift in this field could have HUGE repercussions to the world economy and environment (well beyond how long our friggin smartphones last). I haven't heard of Zinc-air technology before, but I'm curious to learn more about it. In particular, how well it works in cold weather.
Kudos to these guys for at least reading the EULA, and making people aware of its contents. It's better than assuming that standing up to bad corporate practices is futile. That Norway seems to care about its people might be part of the reason it is rated number 1 in the world right now.
Never have so few done so little for so many, while grossing so much. Nintendo has made a major freak'n fetish out of giving the absolute minimum effort to keep its franchises alive.

I can't believe I agonized over whether to buy the WII or the 360. I went with XBOX, and it has become the central component of my home entertainment system (PVR, movies, game rentals, music, etc). Meanwhile, everyone I know that owns a WII, turn it on once in a blue moon, usually for parties. (Same goes for my kids' DS - my iPhone gets used more.) The WII owners I know usually have alternate game platforms that get a LOT more use.
I thought LCD screens on were starting to ramp up pixel density for portable devices? I guess it will still be a while before they get to the sort of density required for this format, unless they go with larger displays and condense them optically (obviating the cool, small form factor in the process). Still, they should be capable of delivering 3D content for games and video.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
