It does have a "browser", but it's not very functional because of the 2+ second screen refresh.
I think it's the only online video service that offers surround sound.....so this is a pretty good deal if you've been looking to switch to online downloads.
I was days away from breaking my contract over the whole GPS-locking issue on Verizon.....looks like this announcement may keep me from fleeing the Verizon empire (not that they care).
I'm not impressed....didn't the MindDrive do the same thing about 10-15 years ago?
I downloaded a torrent copy of it, played it, loved it, bought it. If WiiWare had demoes they'd probably have less pirated software.
This is a typical Nokia release....they make some minor changes, fix the software, maybe add, or remove, a few applications and they call it a new phone and force people to buy it by stopping support for the "older" devices. I wish they'd make a handful of different phones that offer different features, size, functionality, etc. and would use the hardware as a platform for their software and continue to update and support the software platform instead of locking specific versions/features of the software to specific phones and force people to get the newer, which is typically less than 6 months old, software by buying new hardware.
I was watching a good episode of Judge Judy when this hit....I didn't realize it was going to reboot my DVR for about 10 minutes while it updated, so I ended up missing 1/2 the show.
The phone supports both CDMA and GSM bands, so the SIM card is for the GSM service, not CDMA. The GSM service will only work overseas and not in the US.
Cyberlink pulled the software download.....it wasn't supposed to be available until the end of the month.
Damn, I may have to go buy a Wii now....hopefully they port it to 360 or PS3.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
