I really wish Asus would just go back to the basics on the EEE...The original plan was just to get out a $300 subnote that would be functional for basic tasks and people could buy on an impulse. Now they're getting upwards of $600, and big enough that people may as well just be buying a full-sized, fully functional laptop....I myself have a 2G surf, and I love it for the size and price. If they could improve that side of their product range (a re-release of the 2G Surf with improvements), I would be glad to re-purchase and I'm sure others would too as well as new customers.
Teaching my family how to use technology is one of the most annoying parts of my life, and if buying this will force me to do a little more of that I will avoid it at all costs.
With the voide recognition that is built into Vista right now, I can see this being maybe a little bit more annoying than useful.
I think that World Tour video killed a lot of potential Guitar Hero customers. All the rock band-ers who stayed away from the video should be fine though, and Rock Band will come out victorious in the battle of the fake instrument games.

Meanwhile, I'll be spending my time learning how to play my .real. guitar, as many commenters have allready pointed out is a better use of your time.
Just after I commented in the last post about how that price was too much for me they announce a car half the price? Great feedback, guys. Now, I demand your next announcement is of an electric scooter that costs $70, and gets 800 miles with 4 AA batteries.
I was excited when I saw the numbers "199" in the picture, assuming that was the price of it in US dollars, and then I read the read link and realized that was Bahraini dollars, and cost over $530 USD...Shame. I could've dealt with the toyish-ness for $199.
I don't really see what the target audience of this phone is...I don't know many people who'd be interested in buying it. What's the point of producing a phone only a couple hundred people might buy?
This looks a lot more...discreet than any of those hydraulic robo-legs we've seen in the past few months...HAL comes to mind. Walking around with giant hunks of metal around your legs would be awkward, but this looks like you could pull it off casually.
How long do you think it will be before those free car magazines they have in the stores advertising used cars for sale will include used electric cars? That'll be when we know things have really started to turn around...
(and also I can't afford a brand new electric car, especially this one, so I was just hoping ;D)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
