California - not exactly a success. I'm all for some regulations, but they have gone too far. Look at them, they're a great example of what not to do...yet they keep doing this. Sorry, CA, you kind of suck.
One of the most important elements of this research is the power needed for computations. The power required for a processor to compute as much as the human brain is unimaginable.
I have my PS3, so I'm not buying another. :) BUT I haven't bought a game for ages. They are just too expensive for my frugal brain. I have bought a couple $9.99 games from the PS3 store. That I can handle. I guess I'm just not a true gamer.
Cute. Screw all the haters. One step at a time folks. The future is coming, but you have to start somewhere.
While "cell" might be acceptable and correct usage, I think this falls in line with other tech mumbo jumbo. Like saying "speed bump" for speed increase - a "bump in speed" is a lot different than a "speed bump" (slows cars down). I digress, I just think it would be less confusing to "common folk" to actually call these batteries. It's what we, even you nerds, would expect someone to call a AA. It's a battery.
BTW, ATT's 3G coverage was down for all of my zip code yesterday ALL DAY.
I don't know, Verizon's ad is pulling info (map) from ATT's own website:
http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/#?type=voice&3g=t&lat=39.8763719324639&lon=-97.421181703218&sci=1
(zoom out to 1 less than full country, otherwise the 3g coverage area disappears).

rickjamess04, it's rare that I talk to a sales person who know more about their product than I do. Ever been on a car lot and been impressed with the salesman's knowledge? Me neither.
"Offering a thought on the fact that California appears poised to be the first state to ban power-guzzling big-screen TVs". And we wonder why California is in the tank? They are a test case of what not to do.

More on topic, this technology seems fabulous. Hopefully I can skip the plasma and lcd all together go straight from CRT (XBR910, FTW) to this.
Here, another comment to support CJ's thoughts. I don't think it's a good looking phone. It's close, but I'm not drawn to it. But then again, I'm not a fan of full QWERTY sliders.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
