I thought the Lion batteries burned up while in the process of being charged? Or was it spontaneous burn up? If while being charged then the driving of this vehic is not the issue.
Having just bought a new lawnmower recently I did all the research to find an E85 lawnmower, a diesel (ala bio-diesel) lawnmower and researched electric. The electrics are just not there yet. Either too small cutting path or fixed batteries which is stupid IMO. Make the batteries easy to swap out and a decent cut path.
The reason for placing it on the same side as the LCD is video iChat via mobile phone. Get it?
Skeptic,

Would it not depend on how that electricity was generated? If it were pure coal with no filtration then yes you would be right. Nat gas, solar, nukes are not that polluting.
Rim B,

Who cares why people want a 195 HP sports car (which is pretty weak IMO) or an SUV.

But there will soon be alternatives:

Actually what I meant to say is that a straight digital signal to digital recording should not see any degradation.

I definitely want one to replace my series 2. I hope it comes with a 300GB HD or firewire HD addon capability. I need that space.
If the price were right I would get one. Could drive a bit cheaper to my park and ride in the morning.
So where are the cool non-Microsoft powered mobile devices? Symbian? Palm?
Cherly,

The EV1 was an electric car, not a utopian need no fixing car. It still has brakes, cooling systems, and more that will need repair. In fact a car company would love this since they can sell repair certifications for such vehicles. As well these cars are not going to replace hundreds of millions of internal combustion engines overnight so the regular mechanic is not out of a job.

And as for the prius being on back order and they will not improve them you couldn't be further from the truth. Irrelevant that they are on back order, you can buy a Honda hybrid if you so desire. Honda will improve their hybrids if Toyota does not. Then toyota loses sales. Competition will improve them and so will economies of scale.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
