May 26th 2008 11:10AM Hate to break it to you, but this so called waste of research they are putting into spinning disks has brought the VelociRaptor which has a far better $/gigabyte ratio (1:1ish) and still has awesome speed (120MBps read/write). Okay not as great as an SSD but then again, I can't afford something like this. I would prefer to spend the monies on something more worth while (like better graphics for example).
