I would LOVE to replace the desktops in my computer lab [k-6 school] with these little guys. 50 regular towers virtually eliminates any real estate, desk-wise, for anything besides the monitor, keyboard, and minimal movement for the mouse.
@pankomputerek These SFFs, especially Dell's, are used a lot in schools and businesses. I doubt these are really aimed at typical home consumers, so I understand the lack of blu-ray.
tre, support your local PnT! There were two within 5 miles of me, and both have closed in the last year due to not getting enough business. Now the only game shop around is the big G; I'm not pleased.
Reply-fail. That was @ roach.
Holy crap. How come I never imagined these two together?!

That would be truly amazing.
@ Zak,

I'm sure Microsoft has never blocked you from installing a different browser than Internet Explorer. No, you may not be able to remove IE, but you could certainly use something else.
After reading the Engadget HD article about the ATI cableCARD solution, I dropped one into my Win7 HTPC, and it has worked like a charm. Pre-Windows 7, I never liked Windows Media Center, or Windows Media Player, but now I use them exclusively, minus syncing my iPod and iPhone which have their respective playlists in iTunes.

The Windows 7 Media Center is really a powerhouse, and runs really well.
Sounds like a nematode to me.
Don, you should really give Win7 a try before saying things like that. Win7 is very usable, and I haven't run into any issues with it yet. It supports hardware that even XP and Vista [and various Linux flavors] had trouble with, which is a + in my book.
@ph0bi0s

Yes, it has UAC, but you can turn it off just like you can in Vista
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
