Seriously- Where are the rest of the guides? i saw the cell phones one at some point, and it is not listed here... whats up with that?
mine was all gone from it by the time I updated. Boo. now i have to re-sync anyway.
insert "iPod Touch" anywhere that you see iPhone...
The trackpad app on the iPod Touch will allow you wireless with no monthly fee. Im buying Air Mouse Pro app right now. PS- i don't work for them, I just like the app (friend has it).

I would love this, but it causes me to wonder- If the iphone had a built in radio, with iTunes tagging, would that cause the famous app Shazam to be removed from the app store for *duplicating functionality*?

Food for thought. But I'd use this app all day long.
My first mac usage was as a student in school - mid 80s Apple IIe...
my first (owned) mac was shipped with panther (10.3).
Any bets on how many comments will appear for this one? I'm guessing it'll top 10k.
so here's my question. What is your method of choosing for the winning comment? Do you read them all and pick the funniest one? I'd never win that way. Or do you use a random number generator that operates within the parameters you choose (i.e. there are 6400 comments on this post, so we will have it generate a random number between 0 and 6401) and then select the comment with the same number?

If it were me, I'd print out all of the pages of comments, tape them up to a corkboard, or wall that I didnt care about, and then throw darts, until i hit the paper. The impaled commenter would thus be the winner.

and so, i say, impale me, please.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
