I travel every week for business. I always tip the housekeeping staff. Yes, in an ideal world, they would make enough money to not need one. However, you not leaving a tip does not change that. It just makes you look like a cheapskate. The service industry operates with low salaries with the expectation that 15-20% more will come from tips.

This is not a "hidden charge". Everyone should expect to tip housekeeping regardless what rate they pay for their room.

If you can't afford to tip housekeeping then stay at home. Alternatively, leave the DND tag on the door and leave the room as you found it.
@Ray

Why would you buy an iPhone for the sole purpose of running Linux? The iPhone OS is a huge part of what makes it unique.
Philadelphia probably lacks an Apple Store because our unions suck (they protest everything). Also, there is no real shopping district that would be good for an Apple Store. South Street is not the right crowd, Center City mostly office buildings, and The Gallery is the most ghetto mall ever. Apple probably made the right choice opening the store in KoP, it is an upscale shopping center and they fit right in.
Even if you do develop web applications, WebObjects is probably of no use to you ;)
I'm looking forward to everything
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
