hmm... WiFi Tethering, which means that it uses the data plan to emit a WiFi signal (as a router) and share with other PCs. This would be pointless without getting the Data Plan since tethering nothing = nothing.
Exactly, they will sell a fake GPS receiver that replaces the real GPS receiver, and it will just provide a valid fixed location.
Really? Plug-In GPS Device.. Replace it with custom GPS Device that spits out a specific GPS Signal within USA, with this custom "GPS" installled that always says its in USA it verifies and just works
I read them, and thats not UMA, all that means is that it has WiFi not UMA WiFi Calling
Also if it is the same chipset as the G1/MyTouch then its looking less likely it will have UMA on the device.
I am 100% in Agreement with you, I have been waiting for a 3G+UMA device since the G1 (Since they initially promised it) You would think their signature phones would have their 1 competitive advantage which is UMA.
True, but if you notice they seem to have it hammered out since they finally confirmed and announced that the Blackberry 9700 WILL have WiFi Calling (UMA Hotspot@Home) and it is scheduled to hit T-Mobile in November, that tells me they ironed out the 3G to UMA Handover issues that have been reported, and since they are announcing this phone for around that date, I would pray it would have UMA. If it has UMA + 3G I am all over this phone!!
Im going with Sprint = NO, but should work on AT&T, and European GSM Carriers.
Anyone know if this will have UMA (Hotspot@Home) for T-Mobile?
That would suck balls, I have been waiting for a T-mobile 3g+UMA phone for a long time now and I thought the Driftwood would be the ice-breaker.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
