"This approach also reduces workload on manufacturers who are forced to provide numerous drivers for their products".

Do you even understand what you've just said?
You can. As an executable it's easily removed from the system (Add/Remove feature). But a lot of dlls are used elsewhere, so they might stay on the system.

Well, on windows you have hibernation available only if *all* drivers can handle hibernation. Specifically for HDD it means that drivers handle shut down and hibernation almost the same (in terms of safety at least). And I think the only risk of hibernation - is lost of current data in RAM (if wake up can't proceed for some reason).
le-be-dev or even l'e-b'e-d'ev. Its Russian letter which has no analogs in English, and Americans typically can't pronounce it correctly.
Why not? Any arguments?
Well, anyway you can't find anything too, right?

I mean, are there OSs that have like 100%+ more efficiency in using it because of UI? Nope, none of what I've used... You normally need to get used to OS for some time. And then you fine. There is no magic just work.
Ok, let's assume that "far superior" means "no anti virus needed, no firewall needed, free updates, free software". And its wrong!

Every OS is not protected from viruses and stuff. Yeah, probably they are not at such risk as Windows is. But still Linux is quite popular and believe me you'd better have at least firewall on it.

And one more time - viruses, worms, Trojans are concepts and they *do* exist for all popular OSs. And only because user base didn't become large enough they are more or less safe. But that is subject to change at some time.

Free updates - Windows has it. Free software - it has it too.

I'm not saying anything about Linux vs Windows. But your arguments about *far superior* are just incorrect.

Oh, how interesting. Any examples of right UI for the OS? I can't figure out what *concpetually* different for Windows UI from others OS UIs.

And for me it's functional, and I love things that help get other things done. I like good looking, but UI must be functional in the first place. And Windows' UI does it for me. And hey, Vista does a *lot* of things better for this.
What do you mean under "fresh"? MS releases ~50 new projects each year. Just because it's not that widespread doesn't mean it's not fresh and good. Only one look into MS Research Labs gives a bunch of ideas on what they are working on(but it's a fraction). just FYI.
But hey, DMA is done for perfomance. Cut DMA and yoor computer will die processing network trafficing!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
