Yelp does this with what they call "Monocle" -- built into their free app. It's a cool novelty, but it's not the easiest to read.
Things is swell, but it's all about syncing for me. The way it syncs over wi-fi is not a great solution. Once they develop a truly wireless sync I'll go back to it, but until then it's Remember the Milk for me. (which pales as far as interface goes, but have the live sync!)
That mysterious new button in the calendar is for notifications. At least that's what that same icon does in iCal. You guys couldn't get it to work because you didn't have any notifications.
What? A hacker who gets physical access to my iPhone can do damage to it? Say it ain't so!

I believe an idiot with a hammer can also do damage if he has physical access to it, and he'll do it in a lot less steps than this crazy lookin' coot demonstrates.
I hope it doesn't take 45 minutes to log in when it launches. ;-)
Apple did what Apple always does, make software that anyone can use. The line in the wrap-up about not having to be an engineer... it's just Apple's way, and why I choose OSX over Windows any day. Those familiar with OSX won't be surprised at all by the iPhone's interface.
Good observation, I figured people would point this out. But he's hitting the screen with the side of his index finger which is not the best way to do it. The think has been around for less than 24 hours, and has a learning curve, just like all new cell phones. Go to an Apple store and mess around with one, try it yourself!
And you know where Zune got it? OSX.
Funny.. the opposite of Microsoft is good!
It's certainly not a "press" touch-screen, it's more of a "tap" that you have to give it. It's not a gentle application of pressure, but more of a staccato peck of your finger on the glass. Just takes getting used to.

The "swipe" with your finger to page through things is like butter.

Me likey the keyboard. The predictive expanding of the hot zones is really noticeable, especially since I have big thumbs, and I KNOW I miss my target a bunch. But it seems to predict well.

Now, I could stand the period being moved to the main keyboard for text entry, and I hitting space to accept a word is cool, except when you're at the end of a sentence and you need to backspace and put a period in there. But those are small complaints that could be fixed.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
