Can it be used as a phone?
The article doesn't broach the erase speed problem virtually every MLC drive has experienced and which the Vertex has mostly solved. Having been burnt by this on several drives I suspect the other 2 drives don't handle this well. It's really an oversight on the author's side, as pretty much all MLC drives work great until they've had every cell written once, and then the performance can drop below a disk based drive, permanently.
I want to know just what you people think is the attraction of a tablet now that wasn't a tablet back when Apple said they weren't useful before? Tablets are the worst selling of any gadget currently. They are only used regularly in specialized markets. When Apple went with the iPhone, smart phones were already hugely popular. Are you going to give up your desktop for a tablet? Are you going to give up your big screen laptop with keyboard for a tablet? Are you going to carry around a tablet and a cell phone every where you go? Are you going to have a notebook and a tablet? The tablet is a giant elephant in the sitting room.
I like the Sanyo Xacti's. I've had 3 of their HD versions and am going to upgrade to the latest, soon. I chose them because of their features, size and still performance.
What a ridiculous comment.
I think it's like a phone that you wear on your eye, but I'm not really sure.
I got one. I'm not impressed with the video. The Sony based helmet cam that came as an accessory with the Archos devices a couple years ago was much better even though the resolution was only VGA and was only 30fps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sniYbfGB8Po

Granted that was during twilight, but it was actually lighter than the video looks. I am going to do some more during full daylight before I return or resell it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
