Hi Agnes, I too am a victim of the keyboard problem. I find that distance from the computer and even how it sits on my lap makes a difference. You might want to experiment with that. I can get it working most of the time this way but it is pathetic..planning to buy another brand of keyboard if I can't do better than this. HP doesn't answer emails and their help desk people are clueless.
