Watchmen becomes two-part episodic PSN game {PS3 Fanboy}
Jul 23rd 2008 2:40PM ""We don't want a low-quality console game that will get lost at retail," said WBIE senior veep of production and development Samantha Ryan. "A downloadable game allows us to deliver the experience that fans expect." The Watchmen games are expected to be rated M."
So, a downloadable title will let them put out a low-quality game that WON'T get lost at retail? If the game is good, it'll sell. Seems to be they just don't have enough confidence in the game to justify the risk associated with selling at retail. If it fails on PSN, it costs a lot less since they don't have a physical product that has to be discounted to clear out inventory.
An Xbox fan's perspective: is it time to move to PS3? {PS3 Fanboy}
Jul 4th 2008 9:29AM You probably only prefer the 360 controller because that's what you got used to first. I don't have a 360, but I had an XBox 1 with the newer, slimmer controller and I don't know if the 360 controller is any better or worse but my hands used to ache after a long gaming session. The Sixaxis and Dual Shock controllers are amazingly comfortable. I have never had my hands feel sore even after 7+ hour gaming marathons.
I also find the symmetrical analog stick placement to be much more ergonomic (and logical) than having them swapped like on the 360.
The PS3's controllers are also VERY accurate and responsive, far and away better than the XBox 1 controllers were. Not sure how much better the 360 controllers are than their predecessor.

Apr 10th 2008 8:39PM I think it looks awesome and would have bought it over the fingerprint and dust collecting glossy black if I had a choice at launch. Don't get me wrong, the glossy black looks great too, but this new colour looks badass.

Video: AT&T's Surface makes comparing phones, transmitting illnesses a breeze {Engadget}
Apr 2nd 2008 10:06PM I fail to see how this adds any real value that a regular touch screen kiosk can't provide for 1/10 the cost, when you consider:
- No cell phone retailer has demo phones just out and available to pick up without them being tethered to something, which will make it awkward to use with the Surface table.
- Not more than one person can use the surface at a time, so you'll still have people lining up waiting to use the damn thing, when they could easily be reading the same info on a sign or brochure.
- It runs Windows. Lets face it, after the first two weeks, we're going to see half of these things unused with BSOD errors on them, and retail employees who have no idea how to fix them.
- If that's the interface they're going to use, someone at Microsoft or AT&T should be fired. What a freaking mess. I really want to sort through a virtual messy stack of papers on a desk to find the info I want. Most web sites are better laid out than that mess.
- People will find it cool to play with, but they'll be tying up the surface kiosks just messing around with it while customers who actually want to buy something stand around waiting for service and can't get the info they want because some pre-teen mallrats are messing with the surface.
- In 6 months, these kiosks will be mostly turned off and used simply as tables.
- In a year, they'll won't be in the stores anymore.

Keepin' it real fake, part CXV: CECT T5 T32 WinMo 6 iPhone clone doesn't try to hide it {Engadget}

You obviously haven't used both a WinMo phone and an iPhone for any extensive amount of time. Their touch interfaces are as different as a 15 year old track ball is to a laser mouse or modern trackpad. Windows Mobile phones feel like utter crap to use compared to the iPhone. The UI is ugly, unresponsive and slow as molasses compared to the iPhone's touch interface which is fast, accurate and smooth as silk. A friend showed me his HTC touch with the iPhone-like addon, and I just laughed at how shitty it was compared to the iPhone. He agreed.

Apr 2nd 2008 1:01PM Yeah, we know Apple haters, Apple doesn't have a patent on black and chrome and big touch screens. This is OBVIOUSLY not heavily inspired by the iPhone.

Microsoft announces Windows Mobile 6.1, device upgrades {Engadget}
Apr 2nd 2008 12:42AM Yeah, copy and paste is nice, but the iPhone is still a far more usable device even without it. Somehow I suspect Windows mobile devices have a far less than 80% user satisfaction rating. Maybe Copy & Paste aren't the most important features?
Still, Copy & Paste in the iPhone would be nice.
