My verizon contract is about up, this would be a good reason to switch.
There is also the equaly or more important question of display life. Last I read OLED still has a fairly short lifespan for use in a home tv/computer monitor sestting.
I'd be tempted to get this instead of an ipod upgrade if they'd allow media center interface that would download my recorded shows so I could watch on the go easily. But I've not followed Zune close enough at this point to know how possible that is currently.
Any Scene that was historically accurate, such as kicking the messanger into the pit.
Call me confused, but how does DRM (or his DCE) enable users to do more when it requires hardware or specific software to paly it back on devices they as the media creator approve. Where as non-DRMed media I can properly use my fair-use rights and convert freely to any playback device capable of playing that type of media (audio/video)?
I like the unrestricted ability to convert music and put it on my laptop to take to work, or my ipod to listen to on the car if that's where I choose to, or stream it over the network to my xbox360 as the music of choice in the background while I'm playing a game. Same concepts apply to movies/tv shows I have purchased, why can't I convert them to my laptop or ipod video to keep me or my company entertained while on a long trip?

DRM doesn't allow any of that from what I've observed/experienced.
Well the problem I mention is because currently they are only willing to sell them to OEMs who manufacture 'certified' pre-build machines that are complete systems, which I've not seen available for under around $2000 yet. When I have a fully capable machine just needing that one card I'm rather unwilling to scrap a good computer who's sole purpose is as a media center.
I just wish they'd sell cablecard tuners a la carte, I upgraded my desktop and over the past year so that I could swap out my measly analog tuner for a cablecard and hd tuner after I got vista ultimate running, now they're telling me my extra $1000 I spent is worthless for the purpose I spent it for.

A terebyte of analog tv is still analog tv.
Yeah, they could have at least tried to make the screen display image fit inside the shape of the screen on the phone. That's not even a decent photoshop.
I've not used the 2go models but have been a user of matrox dual head video cards sine the first G400 and each monitor always acted as an independant display by default unless that was changed by the user so I doubt they removed that capability in these. From what I've seen they still do dual head/screen better than anyone elses offerings I've seen. The ability to define which screen alerts and messages pop up on, primary screen, secondary, or screen of the app is just one of the nice features that was always easy to set up or change.
I want one, it'd drive my cats' absolutely nuts.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
