My name is Ron Burgundy and I approve of this commercial.
Perhaps you can come up with some sort of formula to come up with a suitable gratuity... x questions from kids = 5% on top of the $1/min of table time and free-refill bonus of course.
Would you go to, for example, an Indian wedding and then be bitchy that they only had Indian food if you didn't like Indian food? or Italian? Chinese? where do you draw the line? As you said it's more expensive to set up another food station... and then what if someone thinks "I've always wanted to try tofu..." and then goes and scoops some up, decides they don't like it and now you're short for the vegans.

If you know they're vegetarian/vegan, let them know that they can fill up on salad & breadsticks, or that there will be limited choices for them. Leave it up to them if they want to eat beforehand and celebrate YOUR day with YOU, sneak in some vegetables, or boycott your wedding because you're a filthy meat-eater :)
Has to be Diana, Miss June...
Hey Farva what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
We were without power for six weeks after hurricane Ivan 2 years ago. Fortunately I had a stash of Sterno cans that we were able to make a stovetop out of with a foil loaf pan and a little grate. We boiled water for tea & coffee on it and 4-5 days in when the freezer started defrosting, we all pooled the meat and grilled it all up on the remaining charcoal and pieces of fence, roof plywood and parts of one of the neighbours houses that was strewn all over the neighbourhood.

Cans of chili, quaker-type breakfast bars, some chunky soup one night. Coconuts, grapefruit, breadfruit and some tamarinds from fallen trees also got eaten. By the time our supply started running low, we were getting food flown in from florida & jamaica and the grocery stores were starting to open in limited capacities. They just unlocked the front door and handed out pre-bagged supplies for free: water, bread, granola bars and that sort of thing.

last-resort MREs were also available, but it never actually came to that, for us.

About a week after that, I had a chance to get to Miami and I hit up Outdoor World and picked up a proper sterno stove, mosquito netting, a solar shower (bliss) and a buttload of batteries for the lanterns and flashlights, and a solar/handcrank cell phone/usb charger.

Since then I've streamlined my hurricane prep kit, and this spring, before the season kicks off, I'll be reviewing it again for what works, what didn't, what needs to be replaced and what needs to be used up/discarded and replaced. I'll be posting it on my blog in May if anyone else wants to use my trialed-by-fire prep list :)

Twice. Once was spontaneous, just happened to be as we were finishing dinner at a nice restaurant.

The other wasn't quite PLANNED as a breakup dinner, but it sure turned into a circus show pretty quick. She was completely loud and foul-mouthed before she stood up and stormed out.

I was TOTALLY bracing myself for the drink thrown in my face too, but she showed restraint (for once) and instead called me a "wanker" as she stomped out with her nose in the air :)
it always amazes me the amount of people wandering around town with the little cruise ship stickers on their shirt, their sunburns and "cruisewear" who are lining up outside of Burger King. There's 11 meals of included food on the ship, and there's all kinds of things to eat OTHER than what you get at home all over the island, yet.. yet... you scrape the bottom of the barrel and line up for BK or Subway? I just don't get it.
ha ha.. awesome. The flailing of the fins is what really "makes" the video!
For starters, The Cayman Net News is about as accurate as the Weekly World News, with only slightly less attention-grabbing headlines. I buy it once a week or so, generally on the weekend when I'm going to clean out the birdcage and re-line it with fresh papers... FOR HER TO POOP ON. :)

I'll come back and post more on this when I get home from work, but I wanted to make sure that you and the readers know you're getting some of your info from Cayman's own "Fair and Balanced" news source :p
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
