I told myself I could live with a D50 for a bit longer

Then this thing strolled into town.

It's a common saying that lenses are a better use of funds than bodies, but that isn't stopping my temptation unfortunately
Good idea in theory, but horrible execution. No RAW support? Fail.

I'd rather upgrade to a D90 and get Nikon's new geotagging hot shoe accessory than buy this(at the moment).

And I agree with sockatume. Why the extra step and piece of equipment? Make the GPS dongle have a PC interface like USB so you connect it directly to your PC and apply the geotagging data to a folder of photos using some lightweight software. No need for a card reader and doesn't interfere with the photographers will to protect their photos first.

And it HAS to support RAW-type formats. A product like this can't be taken seriously by professionals if it doesn't support at least the RAW formats for the big name camera manufacturers.
my mistake, didn't realize it was an 18-105 lens. Good hopes for me, should make the body only cheaper than the $1199 i thought, assuming it had an 18-55mm.
Hmm, this will be tempting when it comes out as a body only setup. Will probably sit around 1199 as a body considering the 18-55 is roughly $100 new.

I look at that nice, big rear LCD and cry at my D50's postage stamp sized LCD.
omigosh I want Pokemon Pearl so I can get the rest of the Pokemon that i can't get from my copy of Diamond!
omigosh i've always wanted a Wowwee Butterfly!
I did this in high school with the LEGO Mindstorms RCX brick and some IR sensors. Was fun burning out a dozen or so motors over the course of a semester.

I still can't believe I actually got graded for playing with LEGOs.
I'm calling ATT to cancel my order. I've called them a total of 4 times since originally putting in my order at Noon on the Tuesday they were on sale. They've had to reprocess my order three times for various reasons and still can't get it any farther than that. At this point I just don't want my credit card to be charged.

I think i'll just ride out my Verizon plan until August and hope we have 3G by then. There needs to be a really good refurb/price drop between now and then coupled with either 3G not being out, or the 3G-capable phone being outrageously priced to get me to break my contract now.
so i put in my order on Tuesday at noon EST. Tuesday evening I get an e-mail saying my needs attention because of a CC error. I call and find out i apparently inserted some wrong info. No biggie, fix it and reprocess the order. While on hold with a rep while doing that, I get an e-mail saying my order was canceled. The rep has no idea why that's happening as she see's nothing in the system about it. Tells me to call back the next day if I don't get a processing confirmation e-mail.

I of course don't get one and call back Wednesday. They blame it on a system error and reprocess again. Thursday morning I get an e-mail saying the phone is on backorder(says special order actually). I give it some time and call again today. They tell me my credit card was declined again. I'm assuming it's just because of AT&T's inability to properly process and charge my CC for my order. I might call Capital One later to find out. I give the rep a different CC and she tells me it's going to ship either today or Monday. We'll see.

there's a reason i'm still rocking 8600gt's, and it's not because I don't need the graphics power.

I don't feel like jamming a 2 foot long card into my case. The size of video cards nowadays is rediculous.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
