I assume you know it's word of the day because you had to go to dictionary.com to find out what "peccadillo" meant? ;-)
It makes me laugh how Americans always use Britons teeth as a slur! What is the point in spending thousands of dollars on unnaturally white and perfectly positioned teeth in mouths that are generally crammed with junk food? I prefer my "bad" teeth over hulking sweating wobblebottoms!
But it doesn't run "MUCH slower" as you put it. I use one every day and am not considered a patient person...it's really not that bad at all! As for comparing to other netbooks, of course, the build quality in the Sony leaves the others dead. The keyboard is great, the screen res blows all the others away. Yes, some are faster (ones that run XP!) but in the real world this is hardly noticeable. If you really want you can put XP or 7 on it. I like Vista, it works for me. I reckon the vast majority of P users are happy with it too. Different strokes I guess but saying Vista drags it down to near useless shows lack of knowledge
Pretty obvious you are not an owner then!! Vista may be a tad slower than XP or W7, but my Vaio P is far from useless. I won't go through the reasons why it is a great, if expensive, machine but I am very happy with it. I don't know what kind of computing power you need or expect from a netbook but it sound like what you want has yet to be built!
stereo speakers, 2.0ghz Atom, matte black color, centered webcam...then I would be happy
So let me get this right...if I buy a P in the US I would not be able to use the WWAN feature with another 3G carrier in my country, Chile? If that is the case, no P for me!
Jim, I think he means in GERMAN the Y rarely used, hence the change...it is after all a GERMAN keyboard layout!
So do you buy the cheapest and dullest car around then? Or do you buy up to what you can afford and try to get the shiniest neatest looking car you can? I know what I do!
it seems that people forget the size of this thing...its tiny...some people pay for that pocket(purse)ability. If it doesn't sell at 1300 then the price will drop accordingly.
Seeing as it was assuredly the "limeys" who civilised your part of the world, your words only embarrass you.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
