That is bad. In that case you might as well just bring a laptop with all your multimedia and plug it into the socket, which makes all of the expensive server systems pointless.
To Kizildere,

I think the point here is that this will an airline flying domestic routes with a service (certainly in economy) comparable to and better than international services, and certainly much better than any other product offerings from competitors in the domestic segment. The airline is going to price its seats competitively and so is unlikely to be "... way more expensive than any other airline."

So the fact that your Turkish Airlines flight had a similar (but actually inferior) service is not the point here.
I am very disappointed. That may sound like a bizzare statement but I am not happy. This thing is overkill. I would have been happier if they had released a TRUE VIDEO IPOD. This iPhone which is basically a PDA, takes no design cues from the iPod we know and (mostly) love. I would have prefered an iPod video in widescreen format, with aluminium design and thin form factor like a cross between the current iPod and the nano.

The other thing is they must have bumped their heads if they think they can market this in Asia by 2008, they probably manufacturing knock-off as we speak. And anyway they've entered a whole new market now, where phone manufacturers produces new models every quater and aren't as obsessively secretive as Apple. This things is going to attacked with competition full pelt. I'm sure when it ships (in Cal4 for me) other manufacturers will have a more viable, cheaper option, that not chained to some bloody phone company. $600 for an 8GB, in sterling thats going to end up as £500 (nearly $1000).

In summary, why don't they complete the iPod line with a proper 100GB iPod Video with wide/touch screen, not added onto a PDA with a poxy 8GB memory, how many movies is anyone going to store on that?

I like my phone. I don't a PDA, otherwise I would have bought one.

Maybe I'll change my mind when I see it....
This looks like a really cool camera.
The Godfather
iDont think anyone will be shedding any tears.
All I can say, is READ... READ CAREFULLY, of course they won't be charging U.K prices in the U.S
I can't believe it dosen't have HDMI, who wants to use a bloody HDMI-DVI cable. I guess the idea is that it can be used a PC monitor I think that's what their website says anyway. Though $5000 could get you two 30inch Dell or Apple displays. Although I am sure they won't be charging UK prices in the U.S
Any Shure, tvBilly? Expand on that ...
I bought a pair from Harrods as soon as they came out. I upgraded from a pair of B&O A8, which had excellent detail but these are something else. The depth and richness of lows is fantastic, and the highs are crystal clear. Every time I listen to music with them it is an experience in itself. They are well built and less conspicuous than the A8s. All the different sleeves are great and the case is very tough. Often with expensive electrical buys the sparkle wears off quite quickly but these are still as special as the day I bought them.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
