Stan, what exactly has indicated that this company will not last very long?
Germain, the iPhone app (although I've never used it) sounds from your description to be sample-based. You obviously don't know much about electronic music. Anybody could make an app that plays little embedded audio clips. This guy reproduced the tones using (limited) synthesis...you know, real talent!
Good call, Mike! Why should anyone have a hobby if there's already an iPhone app that does the same thing!
The most important thing is the fact that walmart can afford to sell the phone for $80, aka not make any money on it, because what they lack in profit margin, they make up in volume. They're putting every other company out of business. If they haven't already, they plan to.

walmart is terrible
The above comment is funny and all, but I also can't think of a time where I would need to play an ISO file.
@koraytanriverdi, "I disagree, it's a very good game, but i think Donkey Kong is the best game ever."
too bad the 160GB drive isn't really $160
Does this really make it rugged? Yes, the outside is hard, but if you drop it, wouldn't it still break? I guess what I'm saying is, is there any cushioning?
I think whoever wins it should put something pertinent to books - like a portrait of a famous writer or the spine of a few encyclopedias...etc
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
