Templarian, That is so BS. that 8 percent is the most active of the entire community. A Large Percent of the 92% are business computers, in schools, banks, ATM machines, Cashier computers at stores, and millions that are only used for small tasks. I bet their is a very small percentage that is actively purchasing Music players and using their machines for multimedia. While almost all mac users use their machine as their personal computer, making it much more of a PC than any PC...
I'm sorry, but this does not impress me. They should be proud of what the chip can handle with normal cooling. AMD needs to focus on making portable cpus and chipsets, and stop focusing on the small percentage of overclockers.

They don't need "street cred" they need amazing low voltage, fast, cheap cpus and chipsets to compete with Intel.
deceitful, vitriolic messaging?

It's humor. They know their audience and I find it quite funny. They did get a huge laugh afterall. Also who cares?
how so? The first iPhone is exactly the same as the iPhone 3G minus the 3G and GPS, WIFI and Edge make the device very usable and the core location technology it uses feels like GPS. The original software is still leaps ahead of anything on the market.
Products like this make you realize how much effort apple has put into their touch screen keyboard. Their keyboard does not look usable. Also their animations when scrolling or sliding look very choppy compared to the iphone that is very smooth and responsive. They are years behind.
My mom is on unemployment and was diagnosed with Multiple Scleroses and my step dad just had a stroke making it difficult for them to pay the bills, I was going to buy one of these for my parents since they have never owned a computer and I can share pictures of my family with them. They live in NY and I live in California, but I realized I too am to poor to afford the $20 dollars a month. :-(

Heres hoping.

we have email though, why do we need MMS? Any person I am sending a picture to has a smart phone or a computer.

Pros for MMS,

Sends picture to any device that supports it.

Cons,

Costs money, Slow, only does pictures and small movie clips. No on every phone.

Pros for e-mail,

Sends pictures or any other attachment to any device that supports it . (computers, most phones). Its free! Will be stored on an email server which you can get on any machine.

Cons for e-mail,

Some people do not have email on their phone...

Which makes sense for you?
Patriot memory is horrible, why would you trust it?
I have used nvidia chipsets for a long long time and they have always been picky on the type of memory you use. This is not new, apple builds these machines around the standards that Nvidia gives them, and unfortunately they have very picky latency and CAS requirements on their memory.

Most memory is made to work with intel chipsets, which is less picky about what latencies you use.

Plus, if you purchase a new macbook just upgrade it with apple, its $150 dollars to upgrade to 4GB. And 2GB isn't bad either, I am sure people can wait until it comes in stock. Crucial 4GB memory upgrade kit is $125... your only saving $25 dollars and your risking stability.

SSD is not about battery life or speed. Its about stability. Hard Drives suck and fail all the time, so if you care about your data enough to pay $599 more, then its well worth it.

For everyone else just spend $300 on nice time capsule.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
