So just get an external sound card if 5.1 is important to you, otherwise a 2.5mm jack is what you get on any laptop or netbook. This isn't advertised as an HTPC, although it seems well-suited to the task.
Ahahaha! That was the funniest commercial I've seen in a while. Kinda out there, but somehow, it just... works.
This has a lot more in common with a steam turbine power plant or a turbine helicopter than an actual "jet" engine. Instead of using compressed, superheated air to directly propel the car, the gases spin a turbine which turns a driveshaft, in this case attached to a generator. It should be pretty efficient, as turbine engine operate best at constant RPMs, which are required for a generator. Interesting concept.
Wow, that's pretty sweet. I wonder if the librarians get bored and try to ride in one of the containers. I would.

On an unrelated note, I love how the BBC's video player can be turned up to 11.
Although no where near as entertaining as Top Gear, I would argue that Fifth Gear is more informative and useful, as far as car reviews go. The staff is great, and I certainly don't mind watching 5th Gear in the Top Gear off-season.

I'd miss them.
I need a new phone really bad!
Zounds!
oUtstanding!
Neato!
Excellent!
I'm lost, what special thing was I supposed to find in that teardown?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
