I saw what you did there.
Jason,

Technically, all invention and art throughout human history is creating an "idea or concept in a recordable form". The only difference is the means of recording.

So yes, if I produce a work of art, I do "now somehow own it". The fantasy is that just because a certain kind of theft is easy to do, it is therefore not wrong.
I thought he was just pointing out the fact that gaming boutiques don't offer affordable, well-designed PCs that have adequate power to play current "scalable" games. Instead, they seem determined to sell behemoth machines that cost, at minimum, double what you would pay to build your own machine that could play the same games.

He's not accusing the game companies, just the gaming PC boutiques.

If this here Firebird 803 is price competitive with consoles, it could be a revolution akin to netbooks.
Yes, but the point is, Acer is even more owned. (ba dink dink)
Well, that's what happens when you're the market leader of a market that doesn't exist anymore.
You guys are all wrong.

Also, I would be in the market for a discreet, wearable netbook-sized pocket. Something that could hide inside a jacket without flopping or sagging would be really slick. Who wouldn't like to be able to produce a netbook "out of nowhere" when the need arose?
No, the kitten is still alive, suffering while you jab it with your fingers!
This appears to be the thread for posting if you want to be High Ranked. C'mon everybody!
Don't ask me; if it were still compatible with the latest software, I'd still be running Win98SE!

Even so, XP was a huge leap forward in terms of features and stability;

I guess Vista's deal was security and some "me, too!" OSX features--which was a good thing.

So now with 7 we get the security, the "me, too" OSX features, some genuine interface improvements, and a smaller footprint.

But really, I still like to boot to Win98SE, just for fun. Those were the days...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't pre-beta and RC versions of Vista far more light-weight than the final build?

I'm excited about 7, too, but I wonder if the final build's footprint may explode in size after some late-stage modifications.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
