Actually, I do think that batteries are getting better, but the newer devices demand more energy: bigger color screens, wireless, bluetooth, gps, multi-tasking, etc. I just wish there was a "kill-all-processes-except-phone" switch to extend the battery life in phones, or maybe have them smart enough to know to shut everything down either by a pre-determined schedule, or by checking the calendar (eg off for meetings, meal times, bed times, etc).
What's more mind boggling is how they shopkeepers are able to make rent. How many phones do they have to sell a month to cover the overhead of rent, utilities and labor costs? Everyone is selling pretty much the same thing, and how do they stand out from the next guy?
Hope they put more memory into it, either that or have larger cache buffers for Pandora, as it gets quite a bit of frame drops.
Just ignore... form filler error. =)
This probably won't work with iLife's Faces and Places...
@Look_around_you,

Yes, I totally agree. Having Flash to work correctly meant that I had to uninstall Ubuntu and put on WinXP. I can't understand why Adobe won't put out a version of Flash that works correctly for Linux. If you were wondering, Flash "works", when watching youtube, flash videos, etc, but when it comes to interactive games, the keyboard/mouse response was terrible. If Adobe does release a proper working Flash binary, I would be able to avoid the cost of buying Win7 when it releases.
@pika, "if Sony really are concerned about music, maybe they would focus first on PROPER music playback. Obviously you guys don't even understand/respect proper music playback as intended by the artists."

Guess what? If you walk into recording studios, guess what brand gear you'll find? Nokia? Zune? Sansa? Creative? Who owns most of those labels?

I guess I shouldn't feed the troll...
I would agree that the audio quality is better on a Sony device. I've played the same mp3 file on a nano and iphone, and then compared it on the X1050 and even on the PSP, using the same headphones, and you can hear a big difference.
The quality might be poor, but that guy has the right idea. I mean, most of us have spare kit lenses that we don't use, why not put those to use and have some fun?
That video does not prove anything. Maybe the hack was just to change the Sprint icon to a Verizon icon.

You are correct about the "take 30 seconds to focus the camera". If you watch the video, the door handle is always in focus. That guy has to learn something about minimum focal length about his video cam.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
