The iPhone is nice, but man do I hate that closed-platform one-app-at-once platform.

I'm pulling for Windows Mobile to improve, but Android 2.0 is so nice.. I really think it's the setting the standard.

Also, if available on the iPhone, I'd skip this software and just use GMaps. $130 for this set? Pft.
Wow..this thing rocks. Damn.

/hope
This phone is amazingly sexy. I used it at the VZW launch of Droid in comparison to the Droid itself and actually preferred the Eris. it' small, light, and will easily fit into your pocket--whereas the Droid is rather thick and too much for a pocket.

Plus, the Eris has a nice display and was very responsive--a perfect little Android device. 2.0 is coming soon for it, which is just icing on the cake.

If I was looking to renew right now, this is the choice I would make.

(As fate has it, I have the HTC Touch, which is almost like the grandfather of the Eris and the Touch2, and is almost as fast, what with a 400 Mhz Qualcomm CPU compared to the Eris and Touch2's 528 Mhz model--and thankfully, dzo from XDA has now gotten an Android ROM to boot from NAND, which means soon we'll have native Android on the Touch. How fantastic is that?!)
Sit tight everyone, the Asus EeePC 1201N is just around the bend, and it will fulfill your Atom 330, 2-3 Gb., Nvidia Ion and 1366x768 needs, all with BT, Wireless N and a 250 Gb. HDD for $500.

It is going to be f'n awesome.
Off I go, writing my own mangled reply.

FML.
What kind of garbage sentence is this? You're ripping on what is little more than a render, and yet you can't put together a well-constructed sentence or master the use of punctuation.

You think this looks like crap--yet I would imagine people making "crap" are about as smart as intellectually gifted as you are.
Attention:

This is a mock-up. We've seen them before (over a year ago), including the 6.5 (and even 6.5.1) renders.

If necessary, I will provide links to the old 6.5 screens along with these, where they feature different size controls, different graphics, and different fonts.

Of curious note is that the application itself looks the same on 6.5, but the OS portion is different. My guess? They used the renders to make it look snazzy.
Just put Palm and WebOS down already.
Microsoft's got one shot to knock WM7 out of the park before Android 3.0 steamrolls it into obliteration.

/clutches his WinMo 6.5 phone and weeps softly.

Damn you, Microsoft! Fix this! Don't let this abomination go on! We've suffered enough!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
