I had a 30 GB zune for a couple of years and was waiting for the HD. I bought an iTouch instead because I wanted to be able to read books as well as using it for music and other media. I've installed ePub and Kindle and B&N software and I'm a happy guy. I waited to see if the HD would offer those options and they dropped the ball in my opinion.
I think this is a great idea. I have 4 ssssons that I taught to ride and can say that training wheels don't hack it. You have to be able to ride without them and that's what this does. It gives the kids confidence in their own ability. Daddy can still be there to help them, but the experience of first being able to ride on your own is something I still remember
Vizio is a decent and inexpensive brand HDTV, bought 3 this past summer. Add in a PS3 (even though I'm not a die hard gamer) for BRay
and it's a winning combo. I just don't like combo units, when one thing breaks the rest is trash
Since the Tesla with SOA batteries and tech has a top speed of 120 MPH (and that's because of natural constraints of electric motor torque vs horsepower issues) I'd like to see them bet me it would do 200 MPH
I listened to the original Zeppelin and although it sounded nice I bought an ZVOX mini. The sound was great and the price was more in line with my budget. I use it on a 26" HDTZ and with my ZUNE.
Thank you sir, may I have an X-Box?
The fact is no one uses the caps lock key and some manufacturers are eliminating it completely. This is a good thing, prevents shouting in chat rooms don't ya know.
I've got to go with the Play Station for a number of reasons.:
1. Some friends have both systems and I can't discern any difference in the picture quality (although they say they do).
2. Got me a ROKU box for NetFlix and Amazon, and they have a lot more options rolling out soon.
3. Free Blu-Ray player with every purchase.
I've been reading ebooks since 1995 on various devices starting wwwith a Palm PDA then Sony and finally a succesion of Windows mobile devices. I have read over 2000 books, short stories and articles (at least that's what my Fictionwise account tells me), this doesn't include books available for free (Public Domain, Baen Free Library, every damsn one of Cory Doctorows books). On a 4.5 inch screen I personally don't find it hard to read, but (and this is a big but) I would "like to have" a larger screen. WM devices being available cheap (~ $100) I find it hard to spend a lot more for adedicated ereader. IF the device was good enough and the price was REASONABLE, I'd consider it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
