Newcastle University has a suite with what I imagine is the predecessor of this technology in. It's quite spectacular to see- three huge back projection screens showing what appear to be two images on each screen... then add polarizing 50hz glasses and WHAM. Instant 3D. They didn't have any games running when I was there, but the videos were spectacular.
I'll second the NVidia graphics. Summer of last year I bought a laptop from Dell - and I bought an XPS as opposed to an Inspiron for this very reason.
Fusion (commercially, anyway) is, at its earliest, going to be ready around 2060, and that's assuming that everything continues to plan. Remember that in the 1970's it was predicted that fusion would be live by the turn of the century.

JET at Culham Science Center, UK, is the world's current leading Fusion reactor, and even they can only get about 60% of the energy it takes to heat up the plasma back out from fusion process.

The ITER research reactor is the next step (it actually means "the next step" in Latin). Construction at Cadarache, France, started this year. It is assumed from the data collected from JET that ITER will be able to "break even"- that is, 100% of the energy required to start the process will be produced by actual fusion.

After that, DEMO (the Demonstration reactor), and after that, Fusion! So we're well on the way, but there will certainly still be a demand for energy sources that do not produce carbon dioxide (like the above Fission reactor) for a number of years yet.
Yeah, Dell wouldn't do that- it might actually be seen as tasteful.
@Steve Gates...

Whoa. That's a lot of exclaimation marks...
Aah, Duck tape. Used and approved by modders everywhere...
Suggested this on a forum about 2 years ago :)

But yeah, why not just go for a wireless USB keyboard? Most work since firmware update 3.3 anyway... at least, that's the newest version at the time of me writing this. I'm using a Logitech Wireless Desktop Lx710 to write this from my Wii now. Works fine!
@ Brian: Firmware update 3.3. Stopped the Twilight Hack. You fail. Epically.
Reading this from the UK, I have to say that this looks like it's going to be very well received, especially considering that Digital Terrestrial (Freeview) doesn't yet support HD... Go on, prove me wrong.

It's about time Sky's monopoly was toppled. I have had a non-Sky sat dish at home for a while - aimed at the Astra and Hotbird Satellites, so we get a large number of (mostly un-watchable) European channels to flick through. Although it's true that most channels on there at the moment are encrypted...

And BBC World is on there, which I don't believe you can receive otherwise in the UK. Despite TV-Licensing... AND I'm a poor student :(
@Synner

I think he was referring to the fact that there is an option for 480p output on the Wii... If you buy a HDMI cable for it, obviously. He did mention Wii controls in his post.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
