Dell offers inexplicable Xbox 360 Elite bundle with certain XPS M1730 purchases {Engadget}
Jul 21st 2008 1:43PM Suppose they have to get rid of the crap somewhere, like the cheesy free gifts you buy with boxes of stationary....
Suppose I could flog it on ebay, but the priced of used Xboxes on ebay is dire due to RROD...

Jul 13th 2008 10:21AM I bought a 40GB PS3 for this price last month, at the Walmart deal.
I really don't understand why anyone would buy a 360, it's not reliable, and the games appear to have reached their limits a long time back, witrh Gears2 looking like Gears1.
Sony's CFO says no PlayStation 3 price cut is planned {Engadget}
Jul 12th 2008 4:58AM No it's just got more GOOD games....
Most of 360's library are turds.. (not as bad as Wii's shovelware), PS3 titles are consistently better.
Xbox 360 Pro for $299 all but confirmed {Engadget}
Jul 10th 2008 6:10PM The UK and Europe already had it's price cut, and it did naff-all to stop the flood of people flocking to PS3...
Microsoft are indeed getting desperate, next thing you know they will be launching Wii-like controllers...
Xbox 360 Pro for $299 all but confirmed {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2008 4:34PM How about making them reliable first.. The 360 is still unreliable junk, and it's only saving grace, is the early launch (which caused the unrelability) gave it a few more games than the competition.
Shouldn't Microsoft be spending it's resources making the 360 more reliable, and perhaps fitting better quality components, rather than fitting even cheaper components, and reducing the price?
And before the usual idiots come along claiming that the 360 is reliable, it's not, even the latest Falcons fail way more than the industry standard (15-20% is rumoured)...

Jul 9th 2008 3:17PM I hear you still get the 3yr RROD warranty with these. My guess is this is a way of clearing refurbs and old stock, to make room for newer versions...

Sony to launch slimmer PS2 in India and Russia this year {Engadget}
Jul 3rd 2008 2:50PM You don't get it do you? PS2 will continue whilst two things are true:
1/ it's making money
2/ PS3 is selling for less than it costs to make.
The PS2 is financing the PS3, I bet Microsoft are dead jealous of that fact... Once the PS3 production comes down further, and it's time to crank out the PS3 for $299, with priduction costs less than that, then it's time for Sony to switch focus to PS3...
In 8 years time, the PS3 will still be selling, just like the PS2 and PS1 before it. It's not a Microsoft 4yrs and dump it plan you know....
More Xbox price cut rumors swirl {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2008 3:42PM I read somwhere theser are refurbs to clear the stocks ready for the new ones, with the working graphics chip.
