@Seahound Some of us actually prefer it.
@num0 I love the trackpoint, I've been waiting for more small and light laptops to include these for ages! Horses for courses, right?
Ooooooo.

I've been wanting a "small and light" lappy for ages with a nipple/trackpoint, as my Dell D410 will die eventually and I'd like some more screen estate. I'll take this in a couple of years when I can get it cheap. YUM.
Shame it needs so much supporting plastic and power.

But I guess this is still a fairly new thing - bring on the Harry Potter -esque newspapers!
Does this finally mean we get nice shallow DOFs through a wee point-and-shoot?!
You lucky bugger, I always wanted one of those... And now they're rare! :'(
Actually me, it's ALL about the smaller black box. I don't care how it looks (up to a point) if this is going to give me lots of added flexibility in a smaller package than those moosive dSLRs.

Mind you it all depends on price - I'd love that digital Leica M8 but with it retailing at just under £3k it's more like "No way M8..."
Cooo.

But, can we get shallow depths of field with these things? Is the sensor big enough and the lens long enough?

That's all I miss from SLR-type cameras really, the ability to take wonderful portraits, sharp subjects and creamy backgrounds...
Come on, bring the 6-cell version to the UK for a nicer price too!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
