There is in fact nothing controversial about umbilical stem cells: they are extracted from the umbilical cord after the baby is born.

Embryonic stem cells are the ones from babies.

"Stem Cells" could also refer to totally benign *Adult* stem cells, which actually hold medicinal promise and don't involve any shenanigans. I'd say they'll end up using, as the picture suggests, bone-marrow derived adult cells to produce their blood samples.

This is fantastic news for everyone really though; this technology could save your life in a normal hospital someday if they get it working.
Just an FYI: You're better off not using a microphone with a mac, just headphones. The built-in mic is far and away better than a plug-in. Using normal headphones I get perfect quality skype calling on a macbook, and the built-in is excellent at filtering background noise.

As to the article, I was looking at buying a bluetooth headset recently but was told that it won't work with mac or pc, for reasons unknown. So it seems the headsets do need adapting sometimes; seems to go against the very point of bluetooth if you ask me..
Perhaps because most wire splitters split your stereo output into two mono outputs; in otherwords, you're listening to only the right earpiece, your friend the left. This isn't ideal when you're listening to something that uses stereo for effects, like a great deal of music or podcasts.

If you want the full stereo, it's usually with a mini-amplifier built in to make up for the loss of power. This makes it ugly and bulky.

Better to have the option of buying a PMP with 2 outputs from the get-go.
Great, another way to achieve walking speed without actually walking.

We'll have a new, bolder generation of *well-balanced fatties*
I've got one I bought in Hong Kong that, slide-case included, that measures far smaller than this. It's about the size of a euro coin (slightly smaller), and carries a gigabyte.
Without the case, it'd be smaller still, my guess is about 20/12/2mm. The brand is "pqi": http://www.pqi.com.tw/

Whoever decides what's "Officially" the smallest here isn't doing their research at all. Neither is Engadget for taking them at face value.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
