Or they could appeal to lots of professionals like artists, graphic designers and photographers who wants color accuracy on the go. Just install Photoshop on this and you'll have your own mobile workstation.
UPDATE: the Nikon D3s may have a new 1.3x crop mode.

I don’t know about this rumor (anonymous email), but here it is – the Nikon D3s looks much better already (if those are true of course):

* Nikon D3s with ISO 200-12800 (D3 was with ISO 200-6400).
* New ISO range HI-3 at 102,400 ISO.
* 12.1 mp FX sensor (same as the D3, but tweaked).
* D-movie with 24 fps.

$399 (if you could find one)
"The noise levels coming from the card paint a different picture. I'm not really thrilled about it. At IDLE you'll have no problem with the card whatsoever as noise levels remain under 40 dBA.

Once the GPU starts to heat up the fan RPM will go up as well. The card however remains steady at roughly 42 dBA which really is a very normal noise level. Not annoying at all. So that's good as well."

It's disappointing how the limited bus (256-bit) and memory (1GB) is limiting the potential of this beast. You can see the card being bottle-necked in many texture-heavy games. AMD could have easily destroyed nVidia had they chosen to go with a 512-bit bus. You know nVidia will go with a 512-bit bus for their GT300 series.

Nevertheless, the card offers good value for the money. Cannot wait to see what 5870 X2 is capable of :)
Kotaku is also reporting that Sony has "placed significant orders for key Sony PS3 components"

Surely, these all cannot be coincidences.
Exactly. It won't cost them much but will definitely give their product better appeal.
Speaking of airplanes, I recently flew on an older model Airbus. It didn't have any of the fancy shmansy screens with outside camera views and a selection of multimedia stuff that come with the newer models. As a result, there was no multimedia box beneath the seats and so you can stretch your legs fully underneath the seat in front. The seats were leather, too!

I say, give us back the comfort and I will gladly bring my own entertainment.
So when are we going to start using picometer? Place your estimates here.

I say 2015. 100pm FTW :)

"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
