Good plan, 'cause after all, you've gotta be crazy enough to shop at John Lewis to even consider buying this laptop.
@GeorgeAnthony

Having used tablet PCs I personally think one of their main advantages is they provide the third most natural way of entering and manipulating information (the other two being speech and thought).

It's akin to pen and paper, so any way you can conceive using a hardbound writing/sketch pad is possible with a tablet. As others have said this means they can be used in situations where the form-factor of a laptop isn't practical.

Their main drawbacks at present are cost, weight, and thickness. There can be problems with handwriting recognition but this is a software issue and no fault of the form-factor.
Good thing it's an Nvidia and not ATi lol.

Personnaly the 13" MBP is ideal for my needs. The power of a fully functional laptop and (almost) as portable as a netbook.

The screen is big enough for use on its own, and its got the power to drive an external when you need extra real estate.
Is there any software that allows you to have collages of pictures as your desktop wallpaper without creating and changing them manually?
Very interesting article. How does one go about "un-jailbreaking" their device if they find its not all its cracked up to be or are having issues?

Simply a matter of hitting Restore in iTunes and resetting to factory settings?
While I commend AT&T for wanting to fix the problem areas of their network, this is just a way for them to pass off work they should be doing to the consumer.

AT&T will have all the data you can submit from this app (excluding custom notes), they just can’t be bothered to sit down and look through it!

Why not?

My apologies, I wasn't aware it's not available across the pond.

Personally I'm not a fan of it, if I had that kind of money to spend I'd go with the UN55B8500.

Just thought it would have made an interesting one for the "We can't afford the rent now can we?" section.
No mention of the Philips 21:9?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
