Don't be silly. The only Vista news you can get from TUAW is the bad stuff. Of course they'll never write about the good stuff.

Ned:

They get paid per post? I agree; that's bulls**t.
"[Wired memory is] used by the OS [which] is pretty much untouchable. Another application can't 'borrow' wired memory"

This isn't quite right. Wired memory is memory that can't be paged out to the disk, it has to stay in the RAM. This makes it untouchable in a way, but not in the "another application can't 'borrow' it" way.

I will personally smack anyone who says anything along the lines of "My Mac's had that for years."

Can't boot from it. Not standard. Don't care."

No wireless. Less space than a Nomad. Lame."

Re 01:
My bet is that Expose (and Spotlight; look over the WWDC06 keynote) will have their own icons (like Dashboard) so you can access some sort of interface for them, but they won't be separate apps.
This poll needs another option: ENOUGH WITH THE IPHONE ALREADY!!!!
@philip: True. For all curious, that should be I-76. And 30th street by no means ends at Arapahoe.
This (and several other things) make me wonder is Sony has something up their sleeves. Somehow I don't think all the cards are down yet.

Just a thought.
You should also remember all those webcam and similar widgets. Not quite "applications", but same general idea.
"There are only three things in life that are certain: death, taxes, and DRM."
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
