I'd want one maybe.
a company called icydock produces a similar product, which I prefer...

It interfaces via SATA while docked in the machine, but still allows for USB2.0 interface while being used as a portable enclosure.

Er, Sprint has flawless reception where I am too. I hacked up an internal WWAN for my t60p out of a 595u aircard - no longer am I bound to wifi~
sounds alot more like Charles Sheffield's novel (The Web Between Worlds), which was coincidentally covered a similar subject, and was released at about the same time (both authors reciprocally recognize this as coincidence), which featured a bio-mechanical machine which extruded ultra-thin 'whiskers' which were the primary construction material of the skyhook.
Lol?

The movie was pretty terrible, from the perspective of a physics student. None of the mechanics of the movie - from how the ship was designed, to the bullshit about the sun catching a Q-ball, made any sense at all.

is it just me, or is it remarkably pointless to display the image of a color-critical display (or, more the point, the image on the pictured display) on a standard one?
Does it support A2DP bluetooth? If so, then its already a better combination phone\mp3 player than the iphone - which is kinda sad, if you think about it. That and lack of tethering is what prevented me from buying an iphone, and in light of the fact that my contract is up soon, and how ridiculously good sprint's pricing is if you can get an employee to sign you up for SERO, I don't think this is going to require much thought,
Honestly, I own a sony PRS-500, and I adore it. Being able to carry around a significant majority of my library, the books are cheaper, and the readability of the screen compared to a backlit LCD are incredible traits.

I honestly that many of the people in this thread who are attacking this product are not heavy readers. And that is a shame, because studies have shown that heavy readers are better people (fabrication, joke, but I agree with the sentiment).

I will say that, while the ev-do connectivity of the kindle, and the associated ability to buy books on the fly is an innovative and potentially useful attribute, the way the device is crippled to using amazon proprietary formats is rather annoying, and frankly counterproductive.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
