@Dominic:

An artist with 50000 hits on a song gets paid around $130 with the current model, so I highly doubt you'll see any extended services for free users. They really NEED us to quit leeching and start paying for this to work in the long run.
@Jamie

I like your comment. It's like saying "Having gourmet food in the UK makes up for not being allowed McDonald's".
According to Spotify, they have a green light for the service itself on the iPhone. Application is pending approval, so might be denied for other reasons, who knows.

Weird to see all these people saying Last.fm and Pandora is good enough. They most certainly don't know what they're talking about. Account specific playlists so you have the same playlists on your computer at home, at work, on your phone and similar, and offline playlists on the phone, so you can play your music when you're out and about without spending money on streaming over 3G. Also, the ability to play any song you want, listen to all albums by an artist etc. is most definitely a lot better than last.fm and pandora.
What Bloobie said goes. He just forgot to mention that most people visiting the HP website, which is second on the list, is looking for drivers and support, not new hardware, so that's even more in favor of apple.com.
Can't say I find these prices that abysmal. In NZ you get a cap that most people will never exceed. I've never exceeded 500 MB a month on my iPhone, and I use it a lot. In the US you have "unlimited data", but AT&T doesn't REALLY have the capacity for true unlimited data in their network, so they limit what they'll allow the iPhone to do (all the cool stuff) in their network, which in my opinion is even worse than criminally high prices. The result is that most iPhone owners in the US use far less than 500 MB a month, despite their rather expensive "unlimited" plans.

My plan is also a lot more expensive than those found in the US, but I prefer it to the US plans because it doesn't limit what I can do with my phone. MMS, tethering, radio over 3G, you name it, there's no limit (or at least there won't be now that Apple has started to differentiate between AT&T and the rest of the world).
In that case there should be a way to lock your phone to a single account, so you can keep re-downloading for free.
My thoughts exactly. The winner should probably call a financial advisor to figure out how to spend all that gift card money wisely, so he doesn't blow it on useless crap.

When I go to bed tonight, I'll probably fantasize about all the stuff I could buy if I only had a $100 Apple gift card ... *sigh*
Was going to make that point. A nerd or a geek would not want this mirror. It doesn't do anything. It's not even a replica of any known circuit board. A nerd would want a replica and a geek would make his own replica mirror of a known circuit board. Ultimately both the nerd and the geek would want the mirror circuitry to actually do something. I don't get how this is cool at all.
LOFL. I love the music. This is obviously only useful for old people, but soooooooooooooo worthy of NES music! It's Megaman, without the shooters, and he's Geriatricman, finally finding a way to the toilet without the use of bedpans or nurses.
Or hopefully in 10 years or so when they've solved the "shitty optics on cellphones problem". There's no point adding 8 Mpx to a phone because the shitty optics will fuck it up. If they can get the optics right, 5 Mpx should be more than enough. Wouldn't say no to 720p recording though, but somehow I doubt that's realistic.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
