Well, it's not some much about the coffee maker as it is about the potential that similar flaws could exist with internet enabled ovens and the like.
And yes, there are some rather nice looking internet enabled ovens out there, I saw them in one of my SmartHome ads. You can get a single for about 5k or a double for about 7k. They are refrigerated so you can actually prep your meal, stick it in the oven, then when you are leaving work or getting close to home or whatever, you can start the oven remotely via the internet or cell phone.
Pretty neat, but you obviously want to be careful with something like that.
No problems with Vista here. Have a friend who doesn't like that it uses too much resources, but I've not had a problem with that either, in fact... FF uses more resources half the time with my many tabs.
I'd have to disagree with Backwards People, I have 3 computers running vista that I use regularly (one at work, my personal desktop, and my tablet). Of the three, my home desktop works great, fast to boot, fast to go down, I don't know what your issue is there. I have apps start up and everything with no issues, it's no slower/faster than my XP load was. My tablet is underpowered and does suffer some, though I'm soon to reload Vista without the Toshiba bloat on it. My desktop at work is so-so, but that's mostly to do with some domain issues that also effect XP machines.
So my experience is that if you have what you need to run it, it runs fine, note that my desktop at home isn't anything special, 2gigs of RAM and a slower proc, non-core2.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
