> "[Apple] filed a 35-page lawsuit in California claiming Psystar was selling "unauthorized" versions of OS X." Why is unauthorized in quotes? That's exactly what Apple claims.

I think it might be because they're quoting Apple.
Speedup is massive, including with all widgets enabled and signed into Facebook (which slowed down the UI considerably in the original release).

This is the smoothest multitasking phone ever - kudos to HTC.
The official version streams live on Android.
How? All the plans on the Oracle website are for 500MB data max.
Indeed, Android did this 6 months ago, with an app that did a 'what's interesting around you app' on the G1 - makes sense, Android had a compass first too.

iPhone user, upgrading to HTC Hero in a couple of weeks.
After nearly 2 years of iPhone it's time for an upgrade - screw the 3GS, with the Hero I get Flash, real Skype (ie, 3G, not Wi-Fi only) and a unified messaging approach (I had this on the BB years ago and miss it a alot).

"they'll now know that they should invest more time into discussing windows and schtuff, and just leave most of linux behind."

Engadget is far less than 12% Linux stories right now. I think the poll indicates they should provide more Linux content where it's relevant. For example, ramp up their coverage of Netbook Linux distros (I mentioned in another comment I'd like to see more info about HP's MIE in particular, as well as unofficial stuff like eeeBuntu) and syncing tools for Linux.
One less-obvious thing I hope Engadget realize from the poss results is that (currently) 12% of their readers 'prefer' Linux, and probably a great deal more of them are interested in Linux in general, though prefer OS X or Windows.

So how about some Linux gadget stories? For example, when the iPhone came out, the wireless syncing? Or the current effort that's ready to go for USB syncing, waiting on the 2.x iTunesDB key to be found?

Or more on how Ubuntu works on the MIE?
* Can i use WinRaR on MIE ?

Archive Manager, which is there by default, already supports RAR files

* Can i use JDownloader on MIE ?

Sounds Javaish, so yes. There's probably better automated download managers for you (I like the Firefox plugins).

* Can i use Gom player / media player classic on MIE ?

You'd use VLC or one of the MPlayer variants for a multi-codec player

* Can i install video codecs on MIE ?

You probably won't need to, as most likely HP will include licensed WMV / MP3 etc codecs from Fluendo. But if you do, the 'ubuntu-restricted-extras' package has what you need.
Agreed, most Netbooks look like toys, but HP already created a good looking one with the 2133.

Unfortunately the CPU is slow and the OS didn't actually work with the hardware (see http://venturecake.com/hp-2133-mini-note-broken-by-own-updates).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
