Does Engadget have any other bloggers besides this guy? lol
You don't need the cell towers for a GPS fix, it's just there to speed up the process if available. You don't need a 3G signal either. However you do need reception to utilise the A-GPS.
Well Australia will be one of the first ones to get the iPhone 3G because of the time difference and its being released everywhere on July 11th, So i'll do a review on my blog when I get it if anyones interested the night before you get yours. I'm especially curious about how good the GPS will be :) Heres the address...

LOL doesn't everyone?
There all pretty much ridiculous except #4 shows some interesting possibilities. The one where they have to keep there hands up in the air is just ridiculous.

Maybe this technology could have other useful applications but certainly not for window front advertising of products, for which the video seems to be focused on.

The worst is the one where the two people have to keep there arms up to see the entire window.
So glad you have the option to turn it off for battery life. This is exactly what I was hoping it would have.
hahahahaha single coolest thing ever
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for the best geotagging camera currently available. The most important feature for me is the accuracy of the GPS module, so any hard specs on satellite receiver would be really useful. Thanks for your time!"
