What no GPS geotagging??? Darn it!!!!
boring.... move over apple, hello google... Nexus one for me!!
@DrDr There is if you open it up... a SIM card that is!
@joshhunt All the stores are free in Australia now.... Free wifi!!
@Andareed Well it does say "UMTS/HSUPA on 850/1700/1900 frequencies", doesn't say 900 or 2100 which is required for mobiles in Australia on the 3G networks.... 850 is only used by Telstra for 3G.

But there appears to be a update to this posting, so who knows!
This is a big fail for Aussies.... No 900 or 2100 for 3G means it will only work on 850 mhz 3g from Telstra (the worlds most costly telephone company!!)

Crap not for me unless they release a 900/2100 3g version!
@suland The same was said for Microsoft... when it made all MS phones and MS phones only!!
I for one am looking forward to buying a new dual core ARM 'smartbook' with 10-12hr battery life running Googles OS. All I want is to open up my smartbook/netbook and check my email and so some surfing. So that sounds great. Of course it will have to have wifi and 3G data services for this to work builtin.

I'm sure overtime 'apps' will be made for the OS and firmware updates will be pushed down to the device to bring in new features.

The idea behind buying new 'approved' hardware is doing an apple. Controlling the amount of drivers and hardware out there to reduce the start up times etc.

Passion - links??
there are other markets other than the US!!!!

Bring out a 900/2100 version of this phone.... I want it!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
