Yeah they've been doing this for almost 10 years in Australia.

Is it just me or does the whole mobile telecom biz in the US suck compared with the rest of the world?
that's what she sa... oh nevermind.
"Clearwire and its partners won't be able to throw as much weight around with manufacturers or achieve the same economies of scale that LTE carriers will"

Well said Chris. I find it amazing that they still want to go down the wimax road considering the above statement, I mean wouldn't something that obvious be a major concern for any CEO? Isn't running a business all about economies of scale and achieving greater profits?

Granted, switching would hit at their immediate profits but wouldn't it make sense for the long term future of the company to do it sooner rather than later?

Seems like they're only sticking with wimax because of the their existing investment in it.
They're already available here in Australia. Went into Vodafone last week and had a bit of a play, wasn't too impressed as it was a quite sluggish between apps and the on screen keyboard is very tiny even in landscape. I really didn't like how the keys changed from uppercase to lowercase all the time, it was too distracting.
what's with the ipod/iphone battery image on the backberry?

is it engadget or enigizers doing?
well if you believe the rumors don't count on it. apparently they'll only have 30 000 units at launch.
I think it's due to the Sigma stigma.
Might be a stupid question but what's the point of a rebate? Why not just sell it at $199 to begin with?
What about the new battery tech that they started using with the aluminum Macbooks? It's added a couple of hours to the battery life of them. Maybe the next iPhone could benefit from this?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
