A good way to experiance HD digital downloads is already here... bluray x264 rips.

No drm and great quality at a price anyone can afford, long live blu-ray and the x264 scene.
then how is this different? for ages you could play 'backup' wii games, I see them all the time floating about on usenet and torrents.
Sorry, a bit late on this..

How exactly do you play iso's, afaik there is no hdd with the wii, is it via usb hdd? or memory card?

edit - just saw that it's memory card, a fare few games would fit on a 32gb card thinking about it, woot.
Nice app, but currently it's just novelty value of having a nice looking UI as the backend is weak.

They need to allow make it read something like mymovies sql database to be useable. (btw, reading mymovies database is now allowed)
mkv is surely our of the question
mce could be a real two fingers up to apple for making thigs slick and looking nice, but instead it just sits there dormant.
All this chat about brains and nobody has mentioned that in a couple years we could have 5tb drives! can't wait. Raid 1 media servers, neato.
If this can play 1080p MKV's with a bitrate up to 12k i'm there. But really, if its a single core 1.6 I reall doubt it unless theres offloading to the gpu... but can any gpu now deal with x264 in mkv containers? (without all the fancy encoding techniques to get it working).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
