does no one else realize that almost all circuit cards have a conformal coating to protect them. I am an electronics technician, and there are about 4 methods to remove epoxy without damaging the circuit card it is attached to. Te best way that i have been tought to remove it is If you heat the epoxy with a PACE heat wand it will overcure the epoxy then you can just scrape it off with a toothpick. The epoxy is gummy when it is still hot from the overcuring process and flaky when cooled. Just look up the procedures for 2M repair it will expain everything you ever wanted to know about circuit cards and soldering.
I just purchased a garmin76Cx hand held unit for my 18' boat it works great. i bought the unit for $250 and the Blue Chart software for $100. It is all I need to be able to navigate both the ocean and the Gulf down here in Key West. And I can load driving maps on it too.
Well I get 6Mbps. I can't immagine i need much more than this. as soon as i type something in it is on my screen. When download stuff i never have to wait more than 30 seconds. There is only so much bandwidth out there, everyone can't have it all.
I really don't care if people hear me yell. Sometimes I yell at the person that pissed me off. I'm glad everyone on here is comasionate enough to spend $80 buying this thing, just to stiffle an emotion that for for like 5000 years no one has nad a need for such a piece of junk.
WOW!!! how did we ever accomplish anything without this? You people make it sound as if the world is going to cease to be if the kilogram isn't correct, when in fact it doesn't even exist. It is just some measurement made up by people so they could comprehend things equally, so that when i say that weighs 5 kg you know about what i am talking about.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
