Best Buy's secret intranet site to get a disclaimer; customers to get shaft {Engadget}
Sep 27th 2007 11:51AM Hey uhh Engadget.... WTF Is with the "late to the game" news posts? This is the 3rd LATE STORY I've read from you in a month(2nd I think from this reporter). Are you running out of things to report? This "Disclaimer" went up very shortly after the original story broke.....MONTHS AGO.
I love your site I really do, but you've got to kill off this late reporting simply to get a few jabs in. Its not working.

Ask Engadget: Best wireless router? {Engadget}
Jul 5th 2007 9:59PM Just my .02,
I'm not to sure about the Belkin products much less the Pre-N Wireless. This is not to say that they are bad in any way, I just have more experience with other brands. I am currently testing a D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N router and so far, good results. The Wireless Draft N Rev 2 Spec just landed and some routers have updates available to bring your router up to speed.
WITH ANY Wireless Router first and foremost is a FIRMWARE UPGRADE. You want to make sure your issues are not something the manufacture has already posted an updated for. As always, its a good idea to follow the upgrade instructions and perform the update via a computer on a wired connection to the router. Check your manufactures website for the latest Firmware updates for your hardware. Be sure to have the information on the bottom of the hardware for identification purposes. (i.e. WRT54G v2 Firmware is NOT MEANT for the V6 and so on..)
You may also want to experiment with changing the channel that the router is broadcasting on in case a neighboring wireless network is interfering.
It may be surprising, but most of my Router troubleshooting revolves around out of date firmware on both the Router as well as drivers for the adapters of the Client computers.

Netgear and Linksys get draft-n routers reviewed {Engadget}
Jun 21st 2006 12:50AM I cant even believe this stuff is even on store shelves. With all the problems the "draft"-n has reportedly caused with neighboring b and g networks, I'm disappointed these major companies have rushed out the gate to be 1st. Linksys and Netgear have not properly reviewed their own equipment, considering the headaches their customers(and neighbors) may face. Correct me if I am wrong, but did this draft not just recently fail to pass final spec by the IEEE?
