to fix the world economy everyone should win an eBook reader
My T43p's fan always used to annoy me. It was noisy and would tend to come on and off every few minutes. Going full blast as soon as the laptop was turned on for a few seconds didn't help either.

Thankfully my T400 runs so cool, and when it does need a fan I can't ever really recall even hearing noise from it.
And truly rugged laptops offer far lower performance for the dollar than a Thinkpad (which already tends to be pricey) and they weigh a lot more.
The flexview screens were phenomenal and I haven't seen a laptop screen as good as it. I still have my T43p although I think in some ways my T400 is better built. Good to see they're still holding up as well as my experience has shown.
ooh signed up!
I do think the 32GB black one will be in my hands soon. Yes... I will order one.
Not the same to someone shooting out in the field. These are typically tougher than most laptops, and unless the netbooks read all those card formats and support UDMA, they'll be slower. You'll also get more transfers on a charge out of one of these and it's a lot easier to wedge in your camera bag to take with you. In fact some people will carry two of these types of devices to lower the chances of data loss. Try that with some netbooks.

I agree they're pricy when you compare them to different things, but it's not the same thing as replacing it with a netbook.
Maybe I'm misreading this, but is this article implying that HyperDrive is a newcomer to the photo backup drive market? They've been around for a while and are pretty good products.
UMS support would basically be enough to see me buying the larger screened Zune.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
