Completely agree with you. I'm hoping that this is the update we've been waiting for.
And there are probably smaller companies who pay their execs more. When a company makes $1billion+ profit per quarter, I have no real issue with them paying their top-level executives for the work they do.
Honestly, I looked at this app because Gruber had mentioned it. Ultimately, it was my need for a better notes application that caused me to purchase it, but his review definitely helped the sale.

My only issue is that the performance is somewhat lagging on the app. Startup is a little bit slow when you start directly in a note, and the search takes a few seconds to come up. I've also noticed that as I add notes, the scrolling is a bit jerky. Nothing too serious, but there is definitely room for improvement.
Actually, the article was talking about being able to use the iPhone as an iPod Touch, not activating cellular service on the device. The benefit of this would be that you'd have an iPod-Touch-like device but better (a camera, built-in GPS, etc).
Or they could do what a lot of European Carriers do and since the ETF is so high, they could afford to lower the price of the phone considerably more. Really, any $350 phone (but I'm thinking specifically of the touch pro 2) is ridiculous, especially when the same phone costs so little (or is free) in the UK. So I don't have any great examples, but I do know that there are a lot of high-end phones for cheap/free in other parts of the world.
When I'm in the mood to listen to a particular genre (or style of song), I usually will turn on Genius, which gives me the benefit of a fresh playlist and some songs that go with my mood that I might not have thought about. This has the added benefit of working even when your tags are a bit screwed up and for some cross-over genres.
Unfortunately, you missed the biggest "spec" to match: price. Unless Nokia takes a hit on each phone, or AT&T does some serious subsidies, Nokia will have a hard time making that phone (speaking from a specification standpoint, not customization) and having it sell at the same price point(s) as the iPhone.

Apple has already done a lot to lower the (perceived) price of smartphones, and the masses will look at the prices and nearly always pick the iPhone.
So I understand what this does, but how is this better than an iPod/iPhone battery pack? Explain why I'd want a tail on my iPhone.
I'll wait until my contract is over and then decide who's got the best network.
I'd like the ability to view this stuff in iTunes as well.

Given some of Apples advancements with iTunes (specifically, Cover Flow) and the finder (QuickLook and thumbing through multi-page files without opening them), I wouldn't be surprised to see it implemented this sort of way. Maybe it will come with iTunes 9 (which should probably be renamed to something else).

I also think that Apple needs to make it easier for us to view this information on our portable devices (iPod, iPhone, Apple TV). And I'm shocked that lyrics aren't included in iTS purchases yet.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
