kudos Jon, yours is the first post i've ever seen on engadget that had the words "Apple" and "hate" together in one post without getting low(est) rank. that truly is a first for me

and if you want to see real apple fanboy trolling at its finest, just read any Gizmodo article written by Jesus.
PFFFF!!!!! what do you mean "silent and happy majority?" You got it backwards my boi, the majority of Apple product owners/phanboys are the biggest iTrolls I've seen since Linux got its cool back again.
Yeah it looks like my old walkman, and for that I kinda like it as well as the style you're referring to.

I for one am waiting for the world to bring back a boombox that doesn't either wake you up or is built into a car. No you don't have that many friends, and a rush hour stoplight party will never ever happen forever.
if you the extra munies i say spoil yourself, otherwise a fancy touch is fine too. they both got classy plastered all over them with defining features like being 'exteme slim and light!' and 'mature'
look at the target consumers for the 'ultimate' list. I want to meet the guy who's job description is "Travel Explorer"
...so is it safe to assume you can play Doom on it?
I wouldn't say they could be the most stupid as much as they are either misinformed, ignorant, and stubborn.

Stupid is an 'in-the-moment' thing in my opinion, and yeah those guys can get real stupid real fast.
I find these results to be too broad about the what they assume to be the single type of guy walking around with the latest and greatest, and never fails to let me know about it too. Normally the people I see that fit aforementioned criteria aren't that great with computers, gadgets, or any other form of technology that isn't punching in a text message in less than 30 seconds or putting together an elementary-school level powerpoint presentation with visual aid consisting ONLY of the clip art that came with MS Office.

But what I found REALY eye-catching (and somewhat more relevant to something I can relate to), was the related article 5 links down on the MORE FROM GADGETS list on that msnbc article.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25209226/
but can you cut a cake with it?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
